Call for emergency help
Call 112 immediately for possible stroke symptoms. Give your location and describe the signs. Do not drive yourself if you may be having a stroke.
While waiting
Note the time symptoms started or the last time the person was well. Keep them safe and follow the emergency dispatcher’s instructions. Do not give food, drinks or aspirin on your own.
Even if symptoms stop
Symptoms that resolve still require urgent assessment. A brief episode may be a warning of a future stroke. Do not replace emergency care with an online enquiry.
